The YZ125 Is your best bet It will give the option to do both and there great at both. And the YZ is the best made today! You will love it .

That may be true...I know we have alot of Yami fanatics on this board, and I love that, but in the 125 class where power is key, even if you only race a few times...I think if I had to put money on a 125 to race with the 250f's, I would go with the KTM.

I mean as to which bike is best for jumping, there is not wrong answer, I think the bigger question is as to how much you want to ride MX, and decide from there.

Personally I would go with a 250f, but if you have to buy used, then a 125 would be the way to go.

I'd go with a KTM 125. They are more powerful in case you do decide to get into motocross, and it still has the lightweight and nimble characteristics as the YZ.(or any 125 for that matter.) Normally I'd say go YZ, but since you're not 100% sure, the KTM gives you more power to keep up with the thumpers if you do race. If you decide to stick with casual riding and jumping, then I'd say go with the YZ125.

actually in the dirt rider yamaha yz 125 vs. the honda cr125 it said the 2007 honda would have beaten the 2007 ktm making the best 2007 125 2 stroke bikes the yz 125 honda cr125 and the ktm 125 (in that order)

Well i dont want to get into a PREFERENCE aurgument. But all the shoot outs have the YZ on top, With Honda being horrebly last. As for keeping up with the Thumpers, The YZ is still concidered to be the most competitive. And it still has the best handling in field. POWER,HANDLING,LIGHT,PROVEN RELIABLE,LOW COST,LOW MAINT, (PROVEN) on all! The new KTM has not been out long enough to boast any of that! And there suspention was always suspect. And when your talking a bike to multi task Suspention is EVERY THING! and the YZ hase gotten THE BEST Marks for there suspention for years! You can beat the OPINION thing to death, But you cant beat the FACTS. No hard feelings, But this is a lock.

I still don't think everything a magazine says is true, so what if they ranked the YZ first, im telling you, if I were to buy a bike, I would put my money on the KTM.

Again we go on with the suspension...If you had both a KTM and a YZ, you would understand when I say, KTM suspension really isnt that bad.

you are a little big for a 125 2 stroke.
if i were you i would go with a 250f, a 450f, or a 250 2 stroke. it wuld probably be easier to jump a 250 2 stroke or a 450f though.

"If I were you, I'd go with a 250F, 450F, or a 250 2-stroke Now that, in your infinite wisdom, where you broke it down for us and laid out the many possibilities, I would say, in just my opinion of one YZWoods, I'd go with a VW."
