Buell (Harley-Davidson) is going to build a family of dirtbikes (ala KTM), starting in 2009, (which is only a year and a half away in model years). Has anyone heard anything about it lately?? What is this going to do to the offroad market? Hmmmm...interesting days ahead it seems!!

I wouldn't give my cluch lever for a HD dirt bike. They have a hard enough time keeping there street bikes on the road. They were junk before when they tried it, and i have no reason to think these won't be the same. they won't sell.

Since the subject was brought back up. Buell shelved the project and has no current plans on when it will start back up.

what engine size is that? that is a sick looking bike. i might go for an r6.. or a cbr600. 1000 is simply to much for me hahaha. well hell with it. nvm why not a hayabusa! lmfao

I guess they considered it a 1000. it was 988cc.
Sweet bike. had a deep harley rumble but was smooth as hell with the EFI.
Tons of cool ideas (none new but just well implemented) like the fuel went into the frame and the swingarm doubled as the oil tank. also it ran a perimeter front brake. were as the caliper sits inside the rotor.
