Well, Here you go...Yamaha is the best 2 stroke made!  And the best of the 4 strokes in the top 3. YOU are looking for a trail bike. The KX is really good. The YZ 85 is better. But you asked what would be good for YOU at this point. Right? Now if you want a 4 stroke..go sit and investigate both and YOU dicide whats best!

well, the pros are riding fricking works bikes, not at all comparable to this 98 Kx100. i'd say get whatever you can get a better deal on and it's still a good clean bike that hasn't been abused.

what are some questions i should ask the owner of the bike??? i was thinking...
when was the engine last rebuilt?
how was it maintained when you had it?
are you the first owner of this bike?

stuff like that

would you guys say a 1998 Kawasaki KX100 for $900.00 is a good deal? and it also needs new tires so thats why he lowered the price 100.00 bucks.

depends on how good of shape the rest of it is. i have a 99 and we could probably get $1100 for it.

the bike is my "avatar" the engine looks good, but how much can you really tell from this view. and also why is the header pipe on this side of the bike all the other two-strokes have them on the right side. Will it make any difference at all?

no, it doesn't make any real difference, i guess they just wanted to be unique with the pipe or something. a lot of people just buy a new set of plastics and make it look nice when the engine is crappy on the inside and the parts are all worn out.
