ryan villopoto is out with a broken collerbone. heres what racer X said. "Ryan Villopoto crashed yesterday at a friend's practice track in Beaumont, CA. It was his first day back on a supercross track after taking some time off. Six laps into it he cased the first three in a triple-triple section and his feet came off the pegs. He hit the next three sitting down and went over the bars. Randy Lawrence said that he was unconscious at first. He is doing better now and on his way to a surgeon to have his collarbone plated. He also broke a couple ribs and may have slightly collapsed a lung. RL said it was the gnarliest crash he had seen in a while. Stay tuned to Racer X Online as we learn more on Villopoto's condition."

easier said than done. there is a reason these people are professionals. so we can all say that we would have done what they did differently. it would have been impossible for jason lawrence to "get a clue" because they are constantly battling. and when you battle theres gonna be bumps and bruises. it happends. so even if he "got a clue" about last week hes still got that block pass to fret about after the finish jump.

Yeah, I was at hangtown when he did that. You could tell he was been bothered by JLaw. & I've also seen JLaw run slower people & kids down off the local tracks here... I think Villopoto might of not been able to take the teasing anymore so he went crazy on him.

In 2005 Ryan broke a collar bone around the same time (and place, Kawasaki test track) and made Anaheim 1.

I bet he will be there.

As for Ryan and Jason Lawrence; thet aren't even close to being the same personalities.  Ryan is blazingly fast and a nice (quiet) guy of the track.  Jason is fast, but a bit of a jerk.

He has been in numerous on and off track incidents.  He had been taunting Ryan so I can't fault him (Ryan) for finally having enough.

YEah, but i beleive that was n early december and he still made it to anaheim. he's got a few months now and more than last year because he is racing the east coast this year. I dont blame him either.

this is the kawasaki press release.

October 17, 2007

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Villopoto Injured While Practicing
- press release -

IRVINE, Calif. (October 17, 2007) – Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto was injured on Monday afternoon after crashing at a private practice course in Southern California.

Villopoto underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken collarbone. The recovery time is expected to take four to six weeks and should have him back on the bike at that time preparing for the 2008 AMA Supercross season.

“Ryan is currently home recovering from surgery,” said Team Manager Mike Fisher. “Fortunately this happened when it did, allowing him plenty of time to make a full recovery and be healthy for the start of the season.”
