which one would win in a race?  

this is the dumbest question in the book. The RM250 is faster. Ricky Carmichaels 450 is faster than Villopoto's 250F, yet villopoto still hammered out laps 3 seconds a lap faster than ricky carmichael. it's the rider.

Villopoto is the next "goat". Yea the yzf is 4 stroke, and the RM is 2 stroke. their is a big difference in power and the rm would smoke the yzf in a drag race, or just power in general.

Ya thats not true that a rm250 will always take a yz250f in a drag. If its a short distance with poor traction dont bet on it.

The best rider will win ever time.I ride a TTR250 and out rode a 700 RAPTOR so power don't always win.

You know, Somtimes i think we take the whole ( No stupid qestion) on this board allittle to far. But being as it's still here....If i read your post correctly your asking if a 250 2 stroke can beat a 250f 4 stroke? Yes every day and twice on sunday.
(unless...) the rider on the 2 stroke falls off. Now i'v rode with a kid on a Yz125 and me on my Yz250. And he is almost pro and can do ugly things to me on open trails. So, in conclution, The 250 2 stroke is faster then the 250f. But you also din't mention what kind of race? No matter..Both riders being the same skill level, The 250 2 stroke will win EVERY time.

Thats not fair yamaharida97, but its a good way to confuse RM250racer. No offense i would choose the 250f any day.

to answer your question, rider skill being equall, the RM250 would smoke the 250f in a drag.

around a motocross track, with riders of equal skill, they would finish closer than you'd think.

for an example, Ryan Villopoto at MXDN smoking every 450 on the track on his 250f.

a motocross track has a way of sorting the men from the boys, even if the "Men" are riding machines with less power output.

Thats why i said riders being (equell). The RM250 wins every time, Track or drag.  

why is everyone all of the sudden posting these pointless threads on what bike if faster.......are you really going to base a bike on its top speed.....you know...i got a kawasaki kdx200...that will go 76mph.....is the worst handling bike in the woods and is heavy as *** really...tell me...what does top speed have ANYTHING to do with what bike your going to get....if you think the bike is to slow.......drop a few teeth in the back sprocket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and stop posting on what bike is the fastest!
