So here it goes... My brother had his drain bolt hole drilled(the threads were bad) out and re-tapped. He thinks he's got all the aluminum shavings out.
case= aluminum = non-magnetic = no way of getting it out by magnets
He flushed the lowest weight oil he could find through motor and cleaned it with a q-tip.
He told me to look for cleaners that wont harm his engine that he could try to run through to get out the shavings.
I'm trying to help him out so we can go out and I can test ride his other yz250f race bike.

Keep flushing it out. Good luck. What year is his 250f?
I love this dirt stuff.

wen i got water in the oil....i know this probably wasn't the best idea......but we had oil for the truck (5w-30) and the bike was needed 10w-30...so we would just put the oil in....let it drain...put more 5w-30 in...let it drain.....repeated the proses...then put the normal 10w-30 in for keeps
![woodsrider adam]() thanks twist for the awesome pic

Nice bikes. And the flush and mag stick is for the gears not the case. So unless you have aluminume gears then..... Just flush. But i have a feeling you know that! lol.

Haha yeah, my brother just wanted to make sure there wasn't a way we didn't know of. #81 bike is the one we're working on. Well thanks guys for the input... I'll let you know how it turns out.
He thinks everything is out of it...he just wants to be extra cautious.

Any time you re-tap you always put a rag in open anything! The shavings are metal and can be picked up with a mag stick. The only thing i can't pick up on my YZ250 is the frame!

aluminum shavings wont hurt the trans and should stay in the oil filter. i wouldn't worry to much.
