125 its really a toss up between the KTM and the Yamaha in my opinion. For the 250f though, i still think Yam makes the best bike.

And not according to MXA either. to qoute MXA, the YZ125 is "not the fastest, but it has the most potential." They gave it a A rating and the KTm a B+. i know it doesnt seem like much difference but i would always rather start off with the better bike. The KTM 125 suspension is undersprung for 07 and 08.

I am a honda fan, I would recomend the CRF250R and CRF450R. I would definetley go with a four stroke. THey have a lot more power than two stroke

Elk, KTMs are good bikes and their 144SX may be just what you are looking for. Have you thught about boring out your bike that you ride now? Other than that AMA sanctioned races allow 250 2 stroke to race against 250fs now too.

i don't really want to bore out my bike. i would rather just spend the money and get a new one. i thought about the ktm 144 but after hearing that the piston will cost 170, i decided not. around here there is one ktm dealer and there prices for parts are really high.
