Hi, i currently have a 87 suzuki quadsport, which is a blast to ride. but ive been wanting to get into the dirtbike scene. Im looking for a light nimble bike to ride in the tight rocky trails of north jeresy. im 5'11" and about 155lbs im not looking for a super fast bike 55-60mph is enough for me. ill be getting a used bike. how is something like a crf230 or the ttr230? thanks for any help

light and nimble are the opposite of the CRF230 and ttr230. I would be scared to death to ride 60 MPH on one of those things on dirt. you are tall enough for any bike made, get a full size. a 125 or 250F are you're best bet for a lighter and nimbler machine. for a 125, the YZ125 is the best, and also has the smoothest power, which is better for trails. for a 250F, yamaha and kawasaki make the best i beleive.

If you havn't had a lot of riding exp. and you said you wanted something, kinda nimble and not real fast, and at your height and weight I think a 125 2-stroke or a 250 4-stroke which is still fast enough, will do you well.
That RM250 might be a bit much just starting out.

yeah, i know what your saying, but i think that ill out grow the power of a 125 too quickly. the guy said its geared down for woods riding, plus $2000 seemed like a good deal to me, plus i think i can talk him down a couple hundred bucks

OK then, you sound like you have a good head on your sholders so you know you will have to take it easy and learn the bike. $2000 sounds far and if you talk him down even better.
Oh yeah, ask for the manual.

ive got enough of a head on me to know i wont be able to handle the full power of this bike the first time i get on it. ill have to see how much i can talk him down cause i dont have that kind of money right now, im only 17 and i have to keep gas in my truck. $2000 would be spending ALL of my money
