First, let me start saying I have no expectation that there is anything I can do right now to help the situation, but thought I would ask for ideas anyway.

My boys both recently started riding, and when they sit on the bikes they have, the balls of their feet can both touch the ground.  I had ordered them boots and they just came in.

The problem that I hadn't thought about is that now that they can't bend their foot down, they no longer can touch both feet down at the same time, which makes starting off and stopping a challenge.

Technically, I guess this means the bikes are a bit too big for them right now, but can't exchange their bikes!  And I really want them wearing boots.  Any ideas?

Put the kids a milk crate or cinder-block in the yard so they can start off with it and stop beside it when they're done for the day. Its a cheap idea but in 4 months they will grow some.

One foot down is all you need and common to so let them get use to just one foot down when they stop and start, wont hurt a thing.

Just becouse they cant touch with both feet dosnt meen the bikes to big. I have seen kids that cant touch at all that rip around the track. I would try a couple 4x4 blocks of wood to stand on plus soon them new boots will break in and be more flexible. you should keep the boots on them unles you want some broken ankles
