I have a 1997 cr125 and i have just rebuilt the motor over the winter(new wiseco piston, and all gaskets replaced). So today i go to fire it up and it starts within 3 kicks and use the heat cycle break-in method to get it up to temperature and then i let it cool off for about an hour. Then i start it again and it runs for about a minute and then suddenly stops. I try to kick it again and it just turns over. I tried changing the plug, set it back to stock jetting, and checked the fuel but it still wont start.

I would look through exhaust port, with the expansion chamber removed and check for any scoring on cylinder first. Second, I would check compression(165-175psi). If it has compression, check for spark--I know you probably did that, but I had to say it. If it has compression, spark, and fuel the next place to check is reeds/carburetor/powervalve--make sure it is not stuck open--that sometimes happens when you put the cylinder back on and do not get the linkage hooked up right. Keep us posted with details of your findings! Good luck

Sounds like the bike is good to go. With a new plug, Do my cold start procedure. Wich is standerd and stock. Let warm GOOD then take off and let us know. Warm the bike with the choke!
