Does anyone know the maximum weight that can ride on the CRF 150 and 230? Thanks in advance.

I think both bikes are strong enough to hold full sized adults.  But if you over 300lb.s I think you are posing a serious health risk getting on any motorcycle.

You will be just fine. You may need to stiffen the rear suspension as your riding get's more intensive, but that's no big deal - on some bikes you can increase the preload, and if that's not an option, just change the spring.  But out of the box, it will carry you along trails all day long - no problem at all.

Thank you all so much for your help.  I'm new to the motorcycle industry.  I currently own a Honda TRX 400EX Quad.  I hear alot of horror stories about riders getting killed on quads mainly if you're doing crazy stunts.  Hopefully this transition will be a safe journey.

Know thy limitations.. people get seriously hurt on bikes, quads, jet-ski's, and just about anything else you can imagine.  If you keep a good frame of mind, pay attention to your riding, and NEVER try to go faster than you are comfortable with, or try a maneuver you are not confident doing, then you will have a fun and ejoyable experience.

Most injuries, I believe, can be chalked up to peer pressure or into riders trying something that is WAY out of their skillset.

Be safe, and good luck!

get the 230, for a 175lb rider u would probly want the bigger bike. (not because ur big, but because the 150 might be underpowerd.)

I agree with curmston.  The 230 would be a better fit, and the extra torque will make the bike easier to chug around the trails and hills.  The 150 will pull you around all day on flat land but you will quickly meet it's limits in the hills.

I think most quad injuries happen because they give a false sense of stability.  The very nature of long travel off road vehicles is they are easily tipped over.  Like Skip said there is no truely safe gas powered toy.  You accept the risk of serious injury every time you throw a leg over a bike, quad, snowmobile, jetski,.. whatever.  I think you will enjoy bikes more, but both bikes and quads are fun in there own way.  Good luck on your purchase and lets us know what you got.
