If they are scratched up, there is not much you can really do. Oh, and that plastic restorer crap you see advertised in the magazines - don't waste your money - it's worthless!
If you like having new plastic on your bike, then I'd say the best thing to do is to replace it once a season - Acerbis and UFO make plastic kits that include everyhting, and are much cheaper than the Original parts.

once you have replaced your plastics and decals just make sure you clean your bike after every ride and a pressure washer isnt always necessary for this sometimes a nice sponge bath is all your baby needs then after the bath go over the bike with some original Fantastic this stuff works amazing and keeps everything looking good

one word the best stuff in the world beside duct tape wd-40 it will make a nice film that keeps it shiny also you can spray it on the under side of your bike a light film and it will make it so mud doesnt stick to your bike

if the scratches have dirt in them scrub them with an sos pad. and just spay it off with wd-40 after you wash it. not only will this keep it shiny but it will make it more flexable and it will bend and not break if you do it alot

here's what i did.....cleaned the plastics using lightning orange degreaser which romoved next to all discoloration. worked beautifuly. let dry and with the dirt out of the scratches they were barely noticable. note may want to dillute if using with colored plastics though full strenght did nothing when i used it on red. then i applied my graphics and hit it with a clear coat. not brand new but look dang good.

try using a heater gun or a propane torch lightly heating the plastics... it helps to "get the white out" and make old worn plastics look a little newer.

if you leave your bike in the garage itll give you that new bike feel over and over, otherwise get out and enjoy the bike and spills that crash and scratch ding and dent, keep a set of new plastics hidden away, for resale you had a good looking bike but proved to yourself that you couldnt take care of it!just kidding

I second WD-40, When I bought my 125, it looked almost new, the guy I bought it from swore by it, and it showed.
