Thanks for that info...Will help REAL riders what NOT to do. If you don't mind me asking, What was your Sieze of choice? No oil? Coolent, Or just lack of maintnence all together? Did you leave a note saying...I'm a azz hole and don't know how to take care of a bike, So we must just end it????? I find it a shame that YOUR still around and the bike is not.

i guess all our preaching about preventative and proper maintenance meant nothing.
it is ALWAYS  cheaper to maintain the bikes as opposed to repairing them.
i hope somebody learns something from this.

I dont know what everyone's problem is. I have seen bikes seize or blow out for no real good reason. Pro racers blow up a bike once in a while and they have a crew to do maintenance. Sorry to hear about the blow up by the way.

Make sure u really mix ur fuel well!! A slug of lean "oil to fuel" mix will wipe out a top end quickly. I always add the oil to the container first, then pour in the fuel and shake with a little dance number that I made up.  also todays pump fuel is for the birds. I think u'll have better luck if u give ur bike a steady diet of race fuel.

beaver, maintenance for a 2 stroke doesnt just mean oil changes and air filter services. how much time was on the engine after the last top end service?? bottom ends wear out as well.
let us know happened.

Not necessarily.  This could be a topic unto itself.  Running race fuel in a stock or near stock bike is wasting the race fuel and may actually make throttle response less than with pump gas (same if you run straight AV gas).

Most stock (and near stock bikes) may benefit from mixing some race gas (up to 50%) with pump gas to help with the quality of the stuff we get now days, but its not necessary to run 100% race gas (other than it smells good...).

I have found my YZ250 and son's YZ125 seem to run better on 25% race (105 Octane) 75% pump (93 octane) mix than straight 105 octane race gas.
