Someone told my dad that Chad Reed was dropped for James Stewart anyone els heard this?  

Dropped form what???  

L&M racing has announced they will not be resigning Reed for next year.  

Stewart is rumoured to be taking his place.

Reed is under contract with Yamaha until Oct. '08 and his contract with L&M ended with the supercross season.

L&Ms' contract with Yamaha had Reeds name on it so they might not be racing Yamahas next year.

L&M has made it clear in the past they only want to race the Supercross series.  If James Stewart does sign with them he could be on a supercross only contract.

Reed has stated that he is happy with Yamaha and would like to stay on the blue bikes if possible.  That leaves Gibbs racing as the most logical choice for Reeds next team.  Their East coast head quarters being closer to Reeds Florida home is another enticement for Reed to want to race for them.

Reed has let it slip on DMXS that someone he knows and likes is going to Gibbs racing next year.  

In April '06 Kawasaki announced a multi year deal with Stewart.  That could mean this is the last year of his contract.  It is no big secret that Stewart was unhappy with Kawasaki's Monster Energy drink deal voiding out his contract with Red Bull; costing him lots of money in sponsership, and tarnishing his long term relationship with the Austrian company.  I don't think Stewarts choice to sit out the supercross season had anything to do with this conflict, but it could have been a factor for him to not resign with the Kawasaki Factory team.  

Some of this is hearsay and some of this has been said by the interested parties.  So far this is all I know.

I don't like Reed anyway.... He's to arrogant! I hope he gets dropped from all his sponsors and has to learn how to stand on his own two feet for a bit. Don't get me wrong, he is an amazing rider, but i don't care how good you are, its no excuse to be an ass!!! GO BUBBA!!!!!  

Reed may be arrogant but bubba is about 3 times worse. He is one of the cockiest riders ever...and he has every right to be cause he is killing it right now.  

I think Chad will be with factory suzuki. Bubba is not arrogant at all. Why would you think that. and Bubba will probably take reeds spot. Horrigan you havent been on here for ever  

I've been working, and working on my bike, and playing with kids, and keeping up the house, plus school will be starting back up.  Face it come summer time we will have less time for this board.  I did write about my weekend a little yesterday.

i think stewarts contract is up next year some time. kawi was saying how excited they are to see vilopoto and stewart race together this winter and next summer. maybe we will see him on the red bull honda team.

stewart is very cocky but the vids i saw of him he seemed cool and inteligent.

if he was signed by l&m yamaha why would he be on a suzuki that confuses me. and is that the factory yamaha team. like how how hondas factory team is called red bull honda.

also jimmy albertson was picked up by red bull honda and jeff alessi still has a chance but unlikely to get picked up..jimmy is only 19 and became a pro in 2006, how crazy is that. he is barely older then me and gets a facrory ride.

sorry my bad i misread you bill. sorry to keep posting but i found some interesting stuff. reed was seen on a makita suzuki. nothing is in ink though, so is not officially riding for them just taking some practice laps. he has been riding in australia, he started his own league there. i also couldnt find a press release of stewart signing a contract for l&m yamaha. i did find that he signed to be owner-rider. he is going to be a 50-50 owner of haas racing and they are going to rename the team stewart-haas racing. they had a couple quotes from stewart but i am not sure if this is true. so bill if i am wrong on any of this just tell me.

David Vuillemin (DV12)on another board mentioned Reeds future ride would be public yesturday; then the photo's of Reed on the factory Zuk appeared; so I would say its a done deal for sure.

Stewart though won't get his new ride till outdoors are over (L & M Yamaha) so Reed will have a head start with new bike.

Good info dave, Been waiting for the dust to settle. Stewart on a Yami will take some getting used to. What we need is RV to get into this mix to make it worth watching.

bill do you have some kind of official press release. i saw the pics of reed on racer x but it also says that no contract has been signed yet and i found nothing that says stewart signed with L&M i did find that he will part ownership haas racing. could u put up a link to an official announcement because i wont believe it until i see ink.
