Why is Husaberg listed under 2 stroke. It should make for a slow forum, there has never been a Husaberg 2 stroke.

Bergs!?  Why not ask about Cagiva?  I've seen more moon rocks tahn Bergs. I can't wait for CanAM of Polaris to start making bikes.

Never seen one? They're common around here.Husaberg was started when a group of Swedish engineers left Husqvarna when Husky was bought by Cagiva.Husaberg was later bought by KTM as a means of acquiring their engine technology for KTM's first racing four stroke (RFS)line.Husaberg was the originator of the lightweight racing fourstroke-and to repeat-have never built a two stroke. They have one various world MX and Enduro championships.Presently, they still retain a Swedish design/engineering team but are built at the same factory in Austria that produces KTM's.Mines an 05 and looks like this.....

For a DR test on this bike,go here
You can also ck out any of the last few years DR 24 hr tests. One of Jimmy's favorites

BTW,why would anyone want a bike built by Polaris?

I know the history of the Bergs.  But they just are not imported in large numbers.  From everything I've read they are good bikes, but anyone buying them is still taking a big risk.  We ride in the dirt and break parts on the best bikes.  The difference is it wil take a lot longer to get parts for a Berg.  And because they are so different many standardized parts won't fit.  I have a neighbor who just bought a Berg Street bike.  It looks like its built for the dirt but has supermoto tires.  He also has owned a Maico, Gas Gas, and KTM in the past few years.  I think he just wants to have a bike no one else does.

ive rode a berg since 2000,before that a husky 510,and 250. if it wasnt for those swedish 4 strokes in the eightys we wouldnt be were we are at now. my first berg was a 400 fe e .the best bike ive ever had! I placed in 3 enduros including a natial!but... sem ingnitions suck!!i went thru 3 in one year.water is the problem. you have to take the cover off after every ride. i know ride a 1996 fc 600. bought cheap of craigs list!! allreadt got a spare s.e.m this bike is fast!!not as good handleing as my 400 but the goobs of all around power make up for it

"never seen a husaberg. "
ha i got a chance to ride one awhile back it was a special prep Colorado500 501 berg. got it for a few hundred bucks. it was a 98. the reason it was so cheap it needed a cylinder once i got it put back together wow it was a very muscular thumper. with an electric starter. i didn't like the fact that the oil was a 10 hours and done. that kind of bike is to much maintenance for my blood. it did have brembos and some high dollar suspension factory. sold it for 2grand not bad just not for me. sort of a gear heads bike.
