My all time fav saw was stihl 044, the forbearer of the 440, I traded it for the ms441, but I dont like it as much.

I am not in the axe-men timber producing business. My title is Univ. Arborist, so I'm cuttin down, climbing, bucket truck, truck and chipper, skid steer & 2 ton, tree-man.

I have more near death stories than I wish to share, but that's what I enjoy the most(calculated risks).

I was driving a combine,tractors,pickups,2-ton grain truck and my Yamaha GT80 at the age of 10 on my grandfathers farm in So. Dakota. Good times for sure!

Funny the people you meet here. Sounds like you know your chit! I have not ran a saw in years, nore drove anything bigger then a V8 lol.
I'v got mad stories of those days as well. Kick backs,Skidder operatore pulling the wench before the loggs were locked in! Cable breaks,Roll backs on hills,Chain snaps, Chain swings attatched to a back hoe bucket, And my dad taking out his whole back end of his brand new chevy 250 with a escevatore after he told me to move it back! LMAO. He nailed it with the bucket turning and totteled it. It was MY fault as you know.
But he backed up before swinging around and the arm was low! Never do that right? And i DID pull his truck back. LOL. Just not enough And we were having lunch when he hit it and saw it coming. LOL. We were like...this is going to hurt. None of us got up! me and my brother and the help just sat there literally on a log eating the subs that were delivered and paid for by my dad as always lol.

Chaps saved my leg from that 044!
Well I have backed into a students car w/ the chip truck, caved in the side of a chevy 2500 w/ a backhoe, backed up too far and the chip truck went down an embankment into a creek, felled an 80ft BlackPine and it rolled onto the chip truck-crushing the cab and hood. I climbed w/ an 084stihl and cut the limb I was tied into(scariest moment of my life), I had a line in a Sycamore tree to pull it over-I did not see the vines running from it to another Sycamore-and the vines pulled the top out and it fell on a groundsmen, I've had a block of wood roll out into a busy road and get run over by a little old lady in a Cadillac throwing it through the windshield of a pickup, I have not crushed any houses yet(knock on wood), but I have come close enough to knock the gutters off, snapped ropes, winch lines and the list goes on and on.

It is fun to watch and say- this guy is getting ready to fck something up- and just sit there and watch it happen.

Now I watch my guys, when there getting ready to do something really stupid, and just say to myself, you guys  are dumber than hell.
