Haha Sad thing is though the rider of the Yz125 was brand new into riding. lol I must be a terrible rider! =)

Thats what Im saying though. Alls you have to do is pipe, high compression top end, high performace cam shaft and a 450 is a killer that nothing can stop.

I do like 500s though. Its kinda fun to watch a mountain disapear.

Thats where you're wrong again.  What you can change to one bike to make it faster you can change on another and get close to the same result.  Take a 500 get a port and polish, better pipe and silencer, and higher compression piston.  Dear God you have a nearly uncontrolable bike!  You could write ACME on the number plates and do your best Wile E. Cyote impersonation.

I'm not mad at you Yama97, or have some vendetta against you either.  It just seems recently that we have had some differing opinions.  One thing we both agree on is 450's and 500 kame tremendous amounts of power.

Haha Yea bhorrigan I have no problems with that. We should deffinatley do that and we can call up Rocky Mountain ATV MC and have them make us some graphics for that and say ACME on the shrouds lol

Yeah were all cool here. Yeah we can deffinatly vouge that 450s and 500s have more power than what you need. =)

yamarida97:
Haha well your sane Im my books since your not leaving the Yamaha family behind lol Though you are a lil weird caz your bikes look fantastic. All of them. You should keep the yz450. Theres nothing out there that can produce as much power as a 450 besides a 450. =) That way when a lil brat teenager like me challenges you to a race you just pull out the old 450 and roost his helmet off.

pin_it:
I've know who you are. Give me a YZ125 and I will still roost your helmet off.

Im J.M. man. But why keep the 450 when I am much, I repeat, much much faster on a YZ250 or YZ250F.

Your who? I cant put a name to those initials because they dont ride yamaha. Where do you live? Im starting to remember. I had you on my myspace. You had some really cool pictures of you riding but I dont know you personally do I?

Thanks for jacking my thread guys.

D.60, I'm not going to lie, but I think your alot of talk. If you still honestly think a 450 will pull a 500, then you are nuts, its not that hard to pin a bike down a straight...

MJP68:
pin, im glad you are havin fun the the 01 yz. have you ridden it on the track yet?? (im assuming so)im sure you have some riding buddies with newer yz250's, have you ridden their bikes??
i would have thought the 450 would perform better in the whoops, i do know my yz250 was much more stable in the whoops than the 125.
are you clearing the jumps that the 250f was struggling with??

97, sorry but if you beat a 500 in a drag race its because you were the better rider.
if you almost lost a drag race to a yz125 its because he(or she) was a MUCH better rider.

Yes, I have ridden it on quite a few tracks. And yes, I have also ridden quite a few different bikes, yes newer ones. Pretty much every 250F I've had a good amount of time on, but the KTM.

The 450 may be good in deep, far spaced whoops, but you can't really blitz those, you more use the raw power to wheelie through them.

By saying it blitz's good, it seems fairly well balanced and if the rear catches a rut and gets sideways I can change direction and correct mistakes so much better. If you get sideways on a 450 through the whoops, its very hard to correct it.

Clearing jumps that the 250F was struggling with? Of coarse. Have I done any new ones? No. It just takes less effort to clear the hard ones.

It's kinda nice having all that power on tap, right now.  450sbuild power, and 250fs eventualy get there.  That 250 2 stroke has it when you want it.  And sometimes when you don't.  When are you going to post up some vids of you on the new bike?  I haven't been on myspace in a while.

well pin , it sounds like youve already made up your mind anyway. really your opinion is the only one that matters here. i do think you are making the right decision with a newer yz250 to race and keeping the 01.
im not sure if you would like the 125. id be happy to let you borrow mine to try it out, but im a long ways away.

I cannot hold onto a bike for more then a few months it seems like.

I am always trying to find a better bike, as I am never contempt with the one I have.

I finally jumped on a bike I think works...ready for this? YZ250.

I bought a mint 2001 YZ250 a few weeks ago and even though the suspension sucks and it doesn't quite handle like my 250F, I have no ambition to get on the YZ250F or YZ450F which are both 2006's.

Anyways, I am thinking of selling all of my bikes (06 YZ450F, 06 YZ250F, and 01 YZ250). I want something new, and a challenge, yet a bike I know I can stay happy with. How does a 06+ YZ125 and YZ250 combo sound?

I thought about keeping my 250F, but what would be the point of that when it races the same class as a YZ250? And to be honest, I'm just sick of messing with the 4 strokes complex engine, I want something more simple since my bikes are not free, nor am I pro!

I already have an offer on my 250F, so I might be able to sell it within a week. I am still working on my 450. I cannot understand why no one wants my 450. That thing is mint and priced very reasonably! AS for the 250, I bought it for 1K so I am not worried about getting my money out of that, I should be able to put an aggressive price and sell it quick!

Opinions anyone!?

hey lets go ridin, you could ride my 05 and i could test out and see how i like the newer 250f's

thanks twist for the awesome pic
