I have looked at the Gasgas 300, the Honda and Yamaha 150, 230, and 250. I basically want a bike I can rough up /trail ride (not race) and not worry about it breaking down every other time I ride it.
I like the feel of the 150cc class (I am 5'11), but like the extra power the other's offer.
I am leaning towards the Gasgas but am nervous getting away from the big 4-5 name brands.
Any suggestions or helpful pointers?
Thanks, Acetyl

Stick w/ the 4 Japanese brands or KTM, so when you need parts, they will be easy to find.

Aside from parts, any other downside?
Thanks, acetyl

Do not I repeat do NOT buy a GasGas or any of those off brands. They are a handful and do not last. They are a rip off. Stick with Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, or Ktm. The most reliable 4 strokes on the market are Yamaha. They have their stuff down the most and they use 5 valve motors instead of 4 valve like everyone else which puts less stress on them.

I don't know if gagas are good now but I guess they are what used to be Bultaco. They are not a chinese brand, there made in Spain.

What about husqarna? I love the looks of those bikes, I think they are the best looking out of all the 08 bikes. And they now have some fuel injected bikes. Any riffs with them other then shortage of parts? ~pat

I'd suggest the KTM XC-W 200. The 150R is a race bike and the 150F is a playbike.

id suggest not getting a four stroke if u want a biek that does not need that much work cause u have to check valves every 15- 20 hrs riding and if u need to do a top end it costs a hella lot and if u ever blow ur engine haha good luck ur liikin at least 1700 bucks where as the 2 stroke u blow that baby all u need is another 800 bucks and ur brand new again and if u just trail ride u can just do the top end rebuild every few years costs bout 150 to 200 bucks and the bike will be good forever
06 Yamaha YZ 250
4 strokes aint nothin but problems
