I am a four stroke virgin and cofused with my carb set up. I just recently bought the klx new and was already aware of the lean factory jetting. I got the f2 ais removal kit and jet kit. I live in ky at about 1000 ft sea level. F2 recomends the stock main jet and pilot jet and the needle at 3 from the top and the air screw 2and half out.I also got the fmf q4 muffler. I went riding this weekend and it was about 90 degrees. I really just follow my 10 year old around the trails so I am not riding hard or anything dramatic. My problem is that the bike still seems to run a little hot and after its good and warmed up likes to die for no reason. It will start back easy enough(no thanks to the electric starter).I noticed that Jimmy Lewis recomended a totally different jetting set up with thier klx testbike than what f2 recomends.I was ok witk getting the 2 strokes right but this 4 stroke stuff seems to be more touchy. Can ayone help me save alot of time and headache. I am a die hard kawi fan so don't say get a honda , I actually really like this bike. Oh I forgot it also seems to not idle consistantly even before I changed to the F2 kit.

Try Jimmy Lewis's jetting. Or ask skiph. He knows every thing about jetting. He will probably click on this and he'll answer your question. Or you cam P.M. him
