I noticed the white fender already. Bike looked horrable...

Can't wait for the after and total cost of fixing it up to new!

Yep - already put the white fender on to see how it fit

As for cost - I'm not going to keep track.  I don't want to depress myself! This project cannot and will not be cheaper than buying a bike in good condition. That was never the plan. I wanted a project to do, and I figured you guys would enjoy going through a 'virtual' rebuild.
If I had to guess, I'd be in in it for around $4,000 all said and done, but like I said I'm not planning on keeping track.

i dont think that bike was that bad. but if you say that it wouldnt run, then i guess it was pretty bad.

my radiater was way way worse and still is worse. i just got it out of the shop because it had 3 leaks. and it looked like a C.

the only thing that i think looks bad to me on that bike is the crack on the right side. i think my bad is in worse condition then the rest of the bike.

its funny how to you that bike looks likes it dead but to me that bike looks like a godsend. just because my bike is a peice of crap.

Oooohhh I so wish I had the time and money to take on a project like that.  Oh wait.  My truck is kind of like that.  Slowly being rebuilt as I still use it.  Well at least I wish I lived close enough to give you a hand.  With 2 guys working we could really polish all the parts.  The good thing about project bikes is they end up being exactly ehat you wanted.  Sure they cost more when it's all said and done, but you had an excuse for all that new aftermarket stuff adorning your steed.

Understood, but give us a parts list please?

Either way, you've got your work cut out for you. Good luck!

Will - that's the most brilliant idea I've ever heard!  Awesome!

Elko - the tranny has 3 wasted gears, one of the case halves is ruined, and I haven't even seen the piston, crank or clutch - trust me, it's a POS If your bike is this bad, then I'd tell you to follow along and do the same to yours as I'm doing to mine!

Bill - I'd love to have you here helping - it's a big project!  You, me, and Woods could get 'er done in a day flat! I'm really going to love this bike when it's done.  I'll have had my hand on every single nut, bolt, wire and part!

well my bike runs. the gears are fine, and the top end is fine. where the flywhees is, is rusted to hell because the case that was on there was bent to hell before i got that replaced.

my jetting is off, i get it a little bit more dialed in every time i ride. it doesnt normally start first kick. takes a bunch of kicks to get it started the first time actually.

my suspension needs rebuilt badly. and all my plastics are scratched and my subframe bent.

Sounds kinky.  I like it!

P.S. You should use that quote in your signature.
