So I kinda had something fall into my lap the other day...I had been asked by a local track to rebuild an existing track that has knida...well really been let go and is in desperate need of repair and then build another peewee track in return I get a no limit family pass for the track and park which includeds mini putt and go-karts...then only problem is the time its gonna take me to do this far surpasses the cost of the membership...but I think I can get the guy to throw me some cash...anyway after that I have another track to build in the fall I have a few ideas for design for the tracks just wondering if anyone else has might have some ideas for track layouts any suggestions and such...I have lots of land to use and there are many possibilities so fire away...

definatly gonna be a whoop section I was thinking around 12-15 then an 80 to 100' table top I also have a pretty good area for a nice step up...

no heres something mabye you guys can give me your thoughts on it...on the track I am rebuilding at the top of the jumps they had burried railway ties to save the top of the jumps anyone ever seen that before?? I was thinking about removing them they dont seem to be to safe to me they look to me like they are developing dips before the wood and would a constant pain in the ass to maintain...your thoughts

I agree. Can the timbers, doesn't seem safe. How big is the area? Are quads allowed there too? What level of riders do u get on a regular basis. Do u have competition (race) days? What type of soil is it?

The area is aobut 75-100 acres...there have been quads there in the past and we get all skill levels of riders coming the track is currently designed to accomidate all levels with by passess around all jumps for the not so sure riders and are all fairly safe really (but like everything you could =get carried away easily)  We are actually hoping to attract a circuit that is in the area to come by they have looked at it in the passed but like I mentioned the track was pretty brutal and not taken care of at all...I am hoping to get the track in shape to attract these guys  to come next year...the soil is fairly sandy and has some large rocks mixed in almost like a pit run but I have guys picking rocks for me there today...it gets very hard packed very quickly...I have been mixing in the topsoil from around the track and it is giving me some fantastic results I am very pleased with how the track is looking so far...I was thinking about adding in some wood chips from the hydro guys clearing trees in the area (what do you think??)I will take some pictures and post them I should have done it before I started...

I have made the suggestion to the owner of the track to get two water tanks and  couple of pumps in order to keep the track up to par...I know he is wanting to increase his buisness which at the moment is pretty much non existant...I am hoping to make some huge changes to the track and like I said bring in one series to the track on a regular basis aswell as many of the locals whom are nkow traveling a great distance out of their way to ride on a decent track, when we could have a perfect track right here....not to mention the is about 14km of trail system that could be greatly expanded aswell...

Can u see it using google earth?

If u can i would copy the pic into a fotoshop program, then u can change the track on paper and see what will and will not work.

Watering systems are a must. Any good track keeps the dust down-its just safer.

Also, almost all blind landing jumps will give u trouble. Id stay away from those.

Yeah the sand is actually a pretty good idea and I work in a quarry so the material will cost pretty much nothing..so you think a straight section coming into a corner then or...and when you say breakers you mean???

Breakers are  like jumps,  but smaller u can hit'em pinned and keep up ur momentum theres really no landing or down side its just flat on the otherside
