To clear things up first, all the previous posts by me regarding a yz 125, i didnt own one yet.
This morning i finally bought my yz 125
just 10 minutes ago i took it out riding and HOLY CRAP.
ok so i cant jump it like i always jump my ttr 125. the back goes flying up and i got scared so i went inside (lol)
also is this normal: I get up my rpm's and start going decent speed so i lay off the gas, then when i give it gas it goes flying. i mean really fast, it jolts me
maybe i just need more practice but idk

yeah, it is normal you hit power band. 2 strokes do that. you get it to a certain rpm and htey skyrocket. makes htem fun you must be letting off the gas just before the right rpm, or just after you got into power band. and when you give it mroe it is snapping right in. as for jumping. try holding the throttle open longer through your jump. and as elko will advocate weight position is key as well.~pat

So you are giving it gas and you get jolted by the power? Good God man you have a problem. 2 ways to fix it. Drain the gas or remove the piston. Just kidding. Welcome to the wonderful world of 2 cycles. Thats the way they perform once you hit the powerband. Enjoy and be safe till ya learn it.

you need work on your body position. your sitting too far back in a bad position and when you hit the throttle it rips out of your hands. everything is about body position. sit as far up as you can. i sit ontop of the gas tank. elbows squared. head above the bars. and get practice. dont do blips of the throttle with it all the way turned. turn to where you can hold on and keep it there. always stay in the attack position, which is what i described. try and stand up as much as possible. stay light on your feet. now jumping it basically the same thing with head above the bars, elbows squared, standing up with knees bent kind of like crouching. stay on the throttle all the way through.

ok elko, ill try later today when it's not 98 degrees outside =O
and btw im 6 foot tall and weigh 130 lbs.
and on my bike i can put my feet on the ground, flat footed and thats it, as in i can just touch the ground
would that mean that my bike has been jacked up some magical way lol. plus i dont think i weigh enough for the shocks to work when im riding over bumps and little rocks

i dont know what you are talking about. 125's are only slow if you suck at riding and cant ride them to their full potential.

aye. most people will never need to go any faster then a 125 will take you. that statement was just ignorant. only time anyone will ever actually get the tire going as fast as it can wold be during a dynotest. ~pat

who you talking about, cause i dont think i was ignorant. i just can't stand when someone actually goes out and says that 125's are slow because they arent. if you ever saw rc or stewart on a 125 then you would completely agree that a 125 isnt slow.
