what modifications need to be made to the ktm 50sx to  run with the cobra 50's? we are getting  beet in the strightaways.  

those cobras are fast little bikes man what have you got done to KTM so far...pipes, sprockets, piston (stock?), wheel size...I made some mods to my boys PW50 and he is beating the ktm 50's badly aswell...is your son aggressive and on the throttle the whole time??  

The bike is stock. In my opinion he still has some throttle left. He is improving exponentaly every race. I have seen one ktm run with the cobras it did sound very modified. Any experience or knowlage  will help.

definatly first thing to do is open the exhaust, then drill out the air box a couple of 1/4" holes in the bottom for drainage and a couple of 3/8" - 1/2" holes should do it...I put an old pair of nylons over the pws box to keep larger chunks of dirt out, run racing fuel

How do the LEM's do against the cobras?

I havent seen any of the LEM'S at our track a cobra but none of the LEM'S..there are two PW's that keep up and occasionally beat him and they are mine and one other I made mods to...  

We just gave him advice on how to get the bike to go fast or a the recepie for a hand granade.  

 hopefully just go fast....I would definatly have your son do lots of practice on the bike before just making mods and given'r...I work with my son 3-4 days a week on his starts, corners, jumps, whoops every aspect of the race...one thing to remember is to not get to caught up in it for me my sons 5 and I sometimes treat it like were heading for the Nationals...keep it fun cuz if he looses interest because the funs gone there is only one person to blame...when hes says he's done he's done just let him go out and ride how he wants DONT PUSH THE ISSUE...know get the drill and wrenchs out raid your wifes nylon drawer and go have fun  

there is still sprocketing and tire size, after market expansion chamber and silencer...you want top end right??? oh I love this stuff

Well I love the sport and I know my son does and hes competitive enough without me pushing him and is always asking to ride, now my daughter (3) started riding on monday night, her choice I had an extra pw50 sitting in the shop and she has always called it hers so now it is her only request is that I make it pink...When the fun is lost from something it starts to suck and be a burdon...  

slash the other kids tires duh.. no thats wrong ya i wuldnt spend a ton of money on a 50 because well hes gonna grow outta it then u gotta soup up an 85 and then bigger so yea unless that bikes gonan get used alot

allright i got a question.concern. I dont think that there should be mods to the bike should there? unless the kid is doing it. i mean at 5 most of the kids are gonna be close at skill. so the only way to really get ahead is to do mods i suppose i get that. but its gonna come down to which FATHER wants it most. which dad knows more mods. the bike choices are limited i understand that but still. the results on the podium are gonna be affected by which dad is better with motors. i dont think its right. yz4 seems to have it down about not pushing to far. i like that ~pat

which cobra is he racing against  OI, JR, SR?  the SR is the "king cobra" the biggest baddest of the bunch just stock the thing is killer and the thing is made to have mods done to it...
