Well as far as kids all being equal at 5 thats not even close man you wouldnt believe the difference in skill levels in these kids its amazing...some of them I am sure are only there because dad wants them there, others just seem to have it...as far as mods go its an open field pretty much, there are no rules to what you cant do (with the exception to bore to 65cc and go with a longer stroke, which is available for the PW's)it does boil down to dads knowing their stuff or paying someone else for it...no matter the fun has to stay there...my biggest thing and it get me every time is watching him race and the later sitting and playing dinky cars or watching cartoons with him and remembering HE'S ONLY 5 believe it or not just writing that gave me goose bumps...to all dads keep it fun kids are naturally competitive let them do there thing, coach them along but dont scorn them for not winning or placing top 5 or 10 it doesnt matter praise them no matter where they finish they are looking for your approval and praise...to many time I've seen dad get there kids crying...for that I just want to punch them in the throat...so on that note make it fun for everyone

its not right there is no need to get your kid crying over a race...ahhhhhhhhhhhhh it just makes me so mad to see that sh1t...these are the same parents that go to hockey games and throw there coffees and scream profanities at the other parents...anyway...

buddy there are a few ideas for you to make your boys bike faster just dont get him hurt for your pride practice with him and make it fun for HIM and YOU

aye. there not gonna put in an effort for something they dont like doing. and if they dont like it as soon as they are old enough to refuse they are gonna. not to mention it kinda spoils the fun for everyone to see that happen. making a kid cry. i bet the dad was a failed racer who figured he'd make his son fullfill his dreams. what a dink~pat

What about the pollini's? Is there anything in stock form that can compete w/ Cobra?

Yeah, a pw50 beating cobras IS impressive, I'd love to see it happen.

It is possible but the PW needs the mods done to it especiaslly if the mods are done to the cobra then it comes down to riders skill...and every riders skill is different each week depending on track conditions and wether he had school that day or not....If your a dad with little racers you'll know what I mean...see here (canada) our little guys/girls in kindergarten go to school a full day every other day so if they go to school on a race day they can de tired and off...a few weeks ago we had to wake one little guy up at the gates as he fell asleep...it was so funny...there are alot of variables...but yeah they can be beat by PW's

My boys play baseball, and the same variables apply, as they probably do in every sport.

for sure man every kid has different skills as parents we need to find out what they are and make sure the kids enjoy it and hav efun doing it...like I said before once they stop having fun its over...next time your at a sporting event no matter what it is look around at all the kids participating and see how many smiles there are...you just might be surprised...I was.

It's the other parents that trip me out as well as some of the coaches. An umpire had to stop one game and read the parents pledge, because some of the parents were, well, I wont go into it, cause I could type forever, so I'll just say, MANY parents take it way tooooo seriously.

thanks that is good sound advice. Are there any any simple cheap mods that could help. It is only a 50 he is sure to be out of next season.

quick cheap mods...open exhaust like woods mentioned, run racing fuel open up the air box (drill the holes I mentioned) change air filter unless its very dusty run as light as you can go (but be careful)those are the cheapest and easiest with exception to the racing fuel...

another some guys love it some hate it instead of the racing fuel use an octane buster that would be your call...personally I dont use it

I took my boy to the races last weekend and he is chomping at the bit to get out there wth his PW50.  I noticed almost every bike was a KTM or Cobra at the track.  They seem to have much better suspension than the PW50.  Is the PW50 adequate to let him get out there and have some fun?  Or will he be at that much of a disadvantage with his PW50?  I really don't want to drop the money on a KTM or Cobra at this point.

Also, any other suggestion on mods I can make according to NMA Modified rules would be much appreciated.  Can I take that spark arrestor off or at least pull the insert out?
