i have a 99 rm 125. i took it camping last weekend and it would idle.i havent had any problems in the past. could it be because i mixed my fuel wrong. the only way it idles is when i feather the throttle.

Are the idle and air screws adjusted correctly? And what fuel mix are you running?

Yeah, that sounds about right. Although I usually run 32:1
Erm try this, warm the bike up (2-3 mins) and adjust the idle screw. See if this helps.

This adjustment may work on the airscrew, but the idle screw is turned clockwise to increase idle. Once you have your idle set, further airscrew adjustment may be required for better off idle throttle response.

Or how long since before you went camping...leaving gas in the float bowl has a nasty way of clogin jet holes....may just need to be cleaned...I had a similar problem with my 95 rm125 would never stay runing unless I feathered the throttle. I lived with it for about a year before I got the energy to take apart the carb and cleaned the jets in it real well (and installed the correct ones for my altitude) and now it idles like a champ.

Chud, Skip told me to adjust the airscrew correctly first, and then adjust the idle screw. Not idle screw and then airscrew...?

There maybe a difference if you are using a tachometer.

Hmmm, Good point... Maybe I'll let you and Skip deal with jetting issues.

i had this problem on my 2001 rm 125, on the choke top off the choke there is a round head that has arrows on a few turns off that and the bike idles perfect, it does say idle adjust if you look hard enuff hope this helps.
