where did you hear see that, cause i heard they would go to at least 2010 and then continue past that if sales are good enough.

think bout it guys more people out there buy used bikes... and the average person who dsnt race wants a bike cheap to maintain... now u tell me which is cheaper to maintain 2stroke or 4stroke... u got it 2 stroke...
and by the way why dnt they make 2 strokes with direct injection like with boats... e.g copy and paste this link..

well because that would mean that the bike would have to be redesigned and that is the last thing yamaha is going to do. you never know though. maybe the 2 stroke will get it but yamaha isnt even going to make efi for their 4 stroke until maybe 2010 or 2011. so maybe the 2 stroke will get it maybe it wont. depends how yamaha thinks sales will go. if they think it will help the sales on the 2 stroke then will put it on but if yamaha sees a short future for the 2 stroke then it wont get it.

i think they shud do that because that creates better flow through the pipe and wud give it better performance maybe almost 2 a 4 stroke level

This whole "issue" is being taken WAY too far.
Dirtbikes produce close to nothing of gasses compared to cars.

i dont think there is an issue here.

i just think it is hilarious that this person comes on here and expects a companie to spend millions on redesigning a bike that might only be around another year or two and then says noone buys new bikes.

Honda completely wiped out all their 2 strokes after 2007. Suzuki wiped out all their 2 strokes after 2008 except for the rm85 small wheel they made in 09. Kawasaki only makes the smaller ones, KX65, KX85, and a KX100. No more full size 2 strokes any more for Kawi. Yamaha and KTM are still running strong though

elko i believe that your statement about cars vs. 2 strokes is incorect. I've seen a comparison on the news saying that a full sized 2 stroke. produces as much co2 emissions in like 4 hours of run time that an average sized car does in a year.~pat

I hope 2 strokes make a comeback... I hate 4 strokes, well too expensive to maintain, and are much bigger and heavier.
