Ok...im not whining or anything when i say this, but i am so sick of this two stroke 4 stroke *** anytime someone has a question on here anymore it seems like the only answer is to buy the bike that you think is better... when it comes to opinions, by all means to each their own, but come on...
it would probably be nice for alot of people actually looking for bikes to hear the pros and cons of both from everyone, instead of just seeing that one sucks because you dont ride it...
sorry but i've seen waaay to many posts on here about this and i just snapped tonight lol

hahaha they are both good 4 stroke engine is designed to be better but also has much more mechcanil parts to it so more maitenece is required alot of valve adjustment and if a 4 stroke blows so does a dent in your wallet otherwise ya both 4 and 2 are superb a 2 stroke being much more easier to work on and more afforadble but it entirely rests in ur hand ur the guy paying for ur bike so its up to u wat u want theres alot of facts on the bikes just do the reasearch and u can decide your self bro

I only dislike the MX fourstrokes. They are noisy, expensive, and quickly eliminating my choice of 2 strokes.
Otherwise I regularly suggest 4 stroke trail bikes to people. XRs, DRZs, and KTM's are great choices for the trails. I'm even excited to see KTM brought back it's 400cc off road model.

same here. i dont like the race bikes. i'd like to 250f and 450f changed to a 225f and 400f.
the factories make so much money off the four strokes though. do you think ama will step up and be a man about it and change the classes?
i think they wont because the ama sucks. they need sold to someone else that actually can make good rules and follow up on them. what ama lets the pros get away with is unbeleivable.

Elk I could go on and on about how the AMA tics me off. But this is Sweets rant about how divided we are on the engine classes.

I don't think I've read the post you mentioned yet, but really it does come down to the end riders opinion.
If you serach you'll see this topic has been beaten to death a number of times.
A month or two back DR did a comparison of 2 and 4 stroke dirt bikes of a couple sizes and prettu well summarized the differences. I will try and look up the month it was in tonight.
