ok so ilooked around and got synthetic mix oil(expensive amsoil)...the first time i mixed 25to1 pretty good little smokey...then i went to get more...but i grabbed a different kind by mistake.....Now the new kind i got says to use for oil injection,or as 50to 1 for any twostroke premix....bikes sleds etc.and it mentions stock or modified...now she runs bad rich smoking....what i need to know is can i trust mixing 50 to 1? Twice as lean as im used too...will i cook my bike!! i am scared to mix that lean!!!!! HELP

lean it out a little bit at a time. your bike will be fine at that lean. it will actually run better. the throttle will have more snap and everything about the bike will run better. most people just dont go that lean because they are scared to or they dont because they think the engine will last longer at 32/1.

no i like muddy chariots being pulled by real horses but with aluminum body armor. and lets make the horses breath fire. not like dragons but just like normal breathing but its fire.
now i think that would be sick to see.

What type of bike are we talking about? Injector 2-stroke oil is generally not a good racing 2-stroke oil. Depending on the bike I would not run 50:1 but stick with 32:1. If the bike is jetted for 32:1 or close and you go to 50:1 you may have to jet it leaner (50:1 means its actually running richer gas wise, but with less oil).

As long as you realize by leaning the oil; you are richenening the mixture fuel wise and may need to lean the jets out.
Bikes will last longer at 32:1. The factory Yamaha 2-strokes used to run 50:1 but they got re-ringed and new pistons after each race weekend.

I'm wondering what was the orig mix rate that you ran ? Did you just buy this bike? Any way (I) would never go under 40 in oil.

well the manual says 20 to 1(82 Rm 125) i went 25 to 1 and it worked pretty good..little smokey..but then i gapped and grabbed the wrong bottle!...didnt realize till it was already mixed and in the bike...ran bad but still pretty fast...this other bottle is more for injected types...but says ok for stock or modded engines but as 50 to 1...scary now im at about 40 to 1 or so...just went for test...still bad gotta set my carb again!...damb gotta grab the same oil stick with what works grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

20:1....86 i guess would have the cast iron cylinder, forget what the bottle says, go by the manual, if you grabbed ams dominator oil(i use that stuff haven't had a problem) you are in good shape....just mix your gas 20-25:1
![woodsrider adam]() thanks twist for the awesome pic

Do not run that bike on 50:1! I don't care what the factory guys are using. They are not running the same compression and porting, and their bikes get torn down after every race. Not what you want to be doing. Get a premix designed for MX bikes and if it ran ok before at 25:1 it should do it again. Modern bikes run great at 32:1 but yours might need more oil to keep it running good.
