Hi all,

Been shopping a reasonably priced 125 - found this one on Ebay. It's only a few hundred miles so I could pick it up.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motorcycles___Fast-Kawasaki-KX-125-reworked-ports-ceramic-coated_W0QQitemZ220271986841QQddnZMotorcyclesQQddiZ2283QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220271986841&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

Really long url I know - you may have to paste it in - tiny url wouldn't touch it.

Or search ebay for " Fast Kawasaki KX 125 reworked ports ceramic coated"

I'm wondering if all the fancy engine work will make it hard to service on the next rebuild.

If this could be had for $1000 or a little more is it worth it?

Thanks so much!

It looks like a great deal. But remember it is bidding, wiht three days left. So expect the bidding to go up.

Also, he said he invested $1000 on an engine rebuild, so he is going to be look for around $1500+ for the bike.

Right - so while a great deal at $1000 it will progressively, however gradually, devalue as the price increases.

Will just have to keep an eye on it.

Seems like a good buy tho, yeah? It mentions previous race experience...how much wear and tear does that add to components like frame, suspension, etc...?

Thanks

Hmm... It being raced by its previous owner, could mean that it has had the living day lights thrashed out of it. But it may have been well maintained tho.

If it was in the racing world then the subframe could be bent but all the plastics fit on their cleanly so it cant be bent and as long as you change the oil in the suspension 1 time a season it won't be a big deal.

And it hasn't been raced since the engine overhaul and it was owned by a pro rider!

Thanks for all the feedback - I'm liking this one a lot but will wait a bit and see how the bidding progresses!

Hey! ...  you think that some of the racing expertise might rub off on a new owner!?!

Ask him about the tranny! Are all the gears functioning properly. Do some research on the ceramic coating! Are there durability issues w/ ceramic?

I have ceramic tile in my bathroom and it wears pretty well.
