lol, you would be fine on the 230 to hit jumps up to that size. even bigger even. People tend to underhype these bikes because they are "trail" bikes. But it is a bike none the less. and designed accordingly. I know someone with a crf 230. He loves hte thing. hits like 3 foor jumps with it regularly and the bike has no damage. Plus it is an extremely reliable bike, something i am envious of lol. peace out ~pat
PEACE GUYS ITS BEEN A BLAST!!!!! ~patrick

pat: Thanks for your remarks here. Yeah, for what I'm doing and want to do ( maybe hitting a 3-4 foot jump later on ), I will be fine, thanks for commenting.
Having a blast with my TTR230! Need to check and clean the air filter tonight, my first time, looking forward to learning about that.
Have a good one - Cheers.

muddy: haha... ok. haha.
Yeah, I'm taking it slow and want to know the right want to do things. I know that with time and difference terrain, accidents will happen, I would like to have fewer then more of them is all. I don't want to step outside of my lever before the right time is all.
As for small jumps, what I have been doing is riding over a jump first a dozen times just in slower gears without compressing the suspension. I guess with time (as I've read - please correct if I'm wrong) I will learn to compress them right before the jump and add some throttle on the way off. I'm not sure yet about jump positioning (standing, sitting, forward, backwards, middle???). But with time I will get it I would hope, especially hanging out on this forum. Some great riders on here it seems, with good experiences and time to chat and share with.
Well, having fun with my TTR230. I will be doing the air filter tomorrow night actually... I'll check the spokes and a few things again also, to be sure things are in order and ok.
Thank you.

your right, but its called preload, and when you jump, kinda stand up some so your body moves naturally, but lean a little forward, and your body will compres the suspiension when your ind the standing position, so thats all there is to it. i ride freestyle ramps and when you sit down, its so steep that you cant do anything but go up, so you just gotta take it easy, and when you wreck, make sure you get right back up and get on it, ive wrecked prob 10-15 times, most from bein stupid, but i got back up from all of them, you just gotta do it. and oh yeah, have a *** blast while your doing it
