We have all heard bouut crazy enviromentalists sticking nails in trees so the loggers hit them with their saws and get seriously injured

Out my way there are allot of hardcore singletrack mtn bikers and one disgruntled green was stringing piano wire across the trails between trees for an attempt to decapitate riders Thank God no one was killed but there were several ppl that were serouusly injured  

I figured that this would be an interesting thread

So what is your story about what the crazys in your area have done to inhibit riding

Ya know what im starting to wonder the last 2 times we've gone to el mirage out here in so cali my hubby has gotten 2 flat tires and were we end up making camp there are tons of nails everywhere and out in the riding areas. I wonder whos been puttin them there


wow thats some crazy stuff never heard of any of that going on ever. Why would ya want to decapitate someone you dont know what if it was a kid gees some ppl take things to beyond extreme  

So help me God, if I cought someone doing that in MY riding areas I'd give them an empircal lesson in external ballistics!

That's tantamount to attempted murder, if not Felony Reckless Endangerment.

If I saw someone it, if any of my buddies saw someone doing it, or if anyone I met claimed to have done it - they'd spend the better part of the rest of their lives eating out of a straw and dribbling on themselves.

Boy that pissed me off!  The nerve of some a-holes. 'Save' a trail by trying to kill somebody.  Yikes!

sorry quazy, wa soutside in the garage no decapitations but i did meet a guy who had a bunch of nails stuck in his four wheelre tire, some guy layed a buynch of nails down on the trail! luckily we didnt get any. ~pat

yeah there were threats simular to what you just said everythere and the lil *** that was doing it got the message and stopped but i would happily greet that creetin with a 12 guage any day it makes you scared to ride sometimes thinking that ppl will do things like this if they could get land mines i dont doubt they would start setting them on trails

when they get mines. i get rpg's. i wouldn't be able to sit at home and not ride because some dinkwad was out setting stupid crap like that. i'd walk the damned trail with my 12 gauger, put up a game camera. catch whoevers doing it on camera and get rid of them. easy as that. 12 gauge buck shot doesn't have a specific grooving on the bullets. smoothbore. csi can have fun finding me friggin a does that tick me off, i would laugh when the guy blows himself up on accident. ~pat

here they string wires accross trails, nails on trails and the worst which had to of taken time where i ride there is this huge hill and at the bottom of it a corner so u come flying down and around the corner right. thiss a hole must of been a mason because he build a cinderblock wall 4 feet high that was cemented together. pretty bad huh my friend totalled bis banshee and was in like critical condition. sometimes they paintball us so we turned around and chased em and they ran up a tree so we cut the tree down on em and my buddys beat the crap out of em.. i was about 12 when that happened

this is gonna sound pansy. but what they want is either of two things. they want us to a, stop riding, and or get so mad we over react and do something worse hten they are so that we look like the bad guys. what we should do, is alert the proper authorities, and remove w/e it is that the gung ho hippes put up, and keep riding. therfore they look like the bad guys. and they'll stop because they didnt get anything out of it ohter then some jail time. ~pat

unless it is somehting that is meant to kill or serioulsy  maim someone. nails is one thing. but piano wire across trails, wiht teh intent to kill someone deserves pretty drastic action. i would take huge legal action. and as for paintballs. that just seriously pisses me off. i'd bring a .22 pistol, and when they shoot at me return fire. say you thought it was a real gun, and that you thought you were in danger. ~pat
