Lately my bike has been running way better, not so rich, plug looks good and jetting is a-ok. BUT, when im riding in tghe higher gears, uysually fourth or fifth, i twist the throttle about 1/8 of the way, hardly any. and the bike just sounds like its gonna blow. sounds like imm revving the piss out of it. But im not. i know its probly nothin, but is it something? does my exhaust valve have anything to do with it? sounds like when i rev it, a huge puff of smoke is tryin to escape the silencer but theres too much and it sounds four-strokish. weird. maybe someone knows what im talking about.

Better safe than sorry! Pull the head and cylinder off and measure the ring end-gap and the crank bearing side clearance...and check the powervavlce while you're at it. Costs next to nothing to check..
By the way - what year/model and what jets are you running?

What was the compression in March? How many hours on it since?
I bought a cheap tester at sears a few years ago. I test mine every 3-4 rides.
