this i just found out and cant believe it. my sons 2005 ttr125 needs a part 1b2-f5383-00-00 wheel collar ($7-$9). its been in the shop for 30 days. part on back order. i called yamaha corp. and they said the eta is nov. 11th. thats right. can you believe it. to make it worse the 2008 models have the same part #. if they have the part for new bikes then why do i have to wait 6 months. I will never buy a Yamaha again. and am putting an anti yamaha sign on my trailer that i drive all over everyday for my business to show my frustration. so much for customer service after the sale. dont believe those lies on their website. the proof is in the pudding.

Yup, if I had a nickle for every time I heard or said that.
Putting an FMF on a Kawasaki is like putting Mayo on a PB and J sammi.

I hate to hear that. not because i feel dissapointed for the company. but i feel bad for all teh people that have to deal with it. I am a firm believer in people will spend a bit more for service.

A wheel collar is not really a high maintaince part, so they are not usually stocked in dealers.
You run that anti-yamaha sign and go over to honda and run one of those when you find their valves are back ordered.
Oh nevermind, the aftermarket which probably could have already been installed and offers better quality.
Parts get backorderd, f-in deal with it.

i understand parts get backordered but for it to take 6 months? they are puting the same part on the 08 models, so if they have them to put on the new bikes why not make them available for the customers who already spend the money on thier products, no service after the sale.

Are you sure they orded the right part?
They make different ttr125's. As far as the 2005ttr the collor is the same for all the models in 2005 all the way to 2008.
It sounds like the shop ordered the wrong part.
The part# for the rear wheel collor for all 2005TTR125LET/TTR125ET/TTR125LT is: 90387-127E0-00(This # replaces 90387-12670-00)
The only # that comes close to your 1b2-f5383-00-00 is 5HP-25383-00-00, and this # shows its for eailer years.
I would go back to the shop and ask them to make sure they looked up the right #. If they give you the same # then I would go some where else.
You can go to Yamahaoftroy.com and verify this yourself on there OEM Parts Finder. They will probably even have your part.
Im a Yamaha guy and 6 months dont sound right.
I love this dirt stuff.

ok, i have a honda and a yamaha. i have a crf100 and a yz125. the yamaha is much more reliable and easier to find parts for than the crf. and the crf is one of the most popular bikes out there! from my experience, its because its not a race bike that its hard to find parts for it.

I love Yamaha and I cant see me changing any time soon but I to have found this with yamaha parts and sad to say fairly frequently...its just they way it is I suppose...but to be fair suzuki, kawasaki, honda whatever it is they all have back orders...and not only being a rider but a shop owner I feel your frustration I dont like telling customers they have to wait another 2 weeks we have limited riding time and that sucks

I think what Pin-it was trying to prove is, that just because one dealer does not have the part, does not mean that 5 others don't.
There are so many Yam,Honda,Suz,Kaw, oem part dealers on the internet and most of the time they get it delivered before your local dealer can.

chuds right. plus ordering them direct. or from the net is also cheaper. less mmiddleman for the parts ot go through. internet shops are just big warehouses. dont have much overhead if i used the term correctly ~pat
