TTR230 06' WONT START.

Hi guys, ive been riding bikes for a few years now. i have this 06 ttr230. i didnt start it for a few months. if you know the new ttr's then you know they only have a electric start which i hate. anyways, long story short, i noticed the battery was dead. so i put some jumper cables on it from a car. tried to start it. the first time it started for about 2 secs. even since it wont. about 15 mins ago i just changed the spark plug. made sure it was the right one and everything. but still no go. it wont start period. if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

ok, i know i need to charge the battery. but shouldnt it start anyways off a car battery?

You need to put the batterey on a charger for atleast an hour.
