I have been looking at getting back into riding. I have a 4 wheeler but want to get back into bikes. I am not sure what I should get though. I am trying to spend less than 3k. My buddy is a hardcore 2 stroke fan and wants me to get a 250. I was looking at 125 2 strokes but they may be to small for me because i am 6'1' and weight 205. My other buddy has a crf 450 which is sweet but they are expensive and i have heard they have valve problems although his has had no problems. Any info would be appreciated.

he is 6'1 which doesnt matter but he weighs 205 would that be alittle to big for a 125 to keep carrying him around, i mean a 125 could do it but for how long?

Do you guess like the 2 strokes because of how simple they are and how they are cheaper to maintain. Why do you say to get a yz?

Which one of the 250 2 strokes is best. I have had honda bikes in the past and liked them.

Well i am going to ride alot of trails at first but would like to get into some track riding. The only racing I would do is gncc stuff.

allright. heres why i like the 250 2 strokes. especially the yz's. 2 strokes are mad easy to work on. and require cheaper maintanence. sure you gotta do the topend everyonce and awhile. but when compared to the valve jobs and hte eventual topend jobs on the racing fourstrokes? its nothing! plus the yz is extremely versatile. with little or no mods you can take it from some dunes to teh trails to the track. its an all around bike. and its an all around bike that does very well in whatever you have it in. now. ther are some 4 stroke options. but they are meant more for the trails and not the track. you got teh wr450 and soem of the other trail versioned crf450s. i believe they are caled crf450x's. they are detuned meaning you sacrifice some performance for reliability. anyway. with the money your talking about you cant beat like say an 03 04 yz250! just my opinion ~pat
