My Ignition System

Hows it goin everyone?
Ive been reading up on ignitions and im not to sure which ignition system my 1982 honda xl80s has? I believe its cdi but im not to sure. Could someone pls tell me what it is?
Also could you explain how it works? starting from the basics lol, like where the electricity starts from travels...etc thanks a bunch.

alsi know is that the 1980 xl80s is a cdi. basically what it is. is its a little generator almost. the flywheel is magnetic. and ti spins around the stator which has a series of starting coils on them. teh flywheel is attached to the crankshaft so everytime it spins, teh flywheels spins, which creates electricity inside the starting coils. and when it is timed right. you have a spark in the plug at the top of every power stroke of the cylinder ![]() i'll try to find a diagram or something of it. i'll post back when i find it . ~pat
