skipkh: pssst.... 20 ft lbs ![]()
Ding,Ding,Ding....WE HAVE A WINNER!!! 20FT LBS it is!! Thanks Skip. I knew I could count on u guys!!
I just did the top end on my GF's nephews 2001 RM125.
I sent the cylinder out to Eric Gorr 2 weeks ago for a bore and replateing. He decked the cylinder head and the top of the jug that damage from a leaky head gasket. He also relieves the area of the power valve that would strike a piston due to an overbore. labor, piston, ring, pin, clips and gasket kit with freight $370. Not bad in my book!!
I had to drill the piston due to Suzukis exhaust bridge and rebulid the power valve linkage that let go (who knows when?? )
tonites work took about 2 1/2 hours and we have started it 3 times just to get it warm. I'll take it around the block a couple times tomorrow while he is in school and then he can go for a rip when he comes home.

Your absolutely right Maple. And I'm on the look out for one. he has told me he couldn't find one for a 2001 and after a quick glance (clymer, amazon, motosport) i haven't seen one either. I guess he will have to buy and O.E.M..
