they may be. take the bike off the ground, so the forks are in the air and let the air out and let the bike sit for a day or two. i did that with my shock one time and it went back to normal after a few days.

Maybe, how hard did you hit? Late model KYB forks have been none to break the basevalve plastic piston with large hits. A lot of suspension shops modify them by drilling a small hole or two (can't recall the position). Only way to know for sure is to have them checked if the forks really feel soft. (Thats also one of the benefits is it makes them a bit more plush).
On very hard hits the pressure builds up too fast and can cause issues. Again can't say for sure tats what happend but if they continue to not feel right might be worth a look.

well then just give them a few days rest. exact same thing happened to me. after i hit i said it feels softer and it looks like my bike sits lower. everyone said it was in my head. i gave it a few days rest and it felt like normal a few days later.

If its making bad noise, time to tear into it.Its not hard to take apart a dirt bike engine, just keep everything in order and togther and it'll go back together just as smooth once you find the problem. I would start by pulling the head and cylinder and checking rod play to see if its a bearing.

yeah. engines are made of many many small metal parts. of whihc 90 percent of them move and any of htem could be whats wrong. ussualy its pretty obvious when you take it apart as to whats wrong with it. like dcm said. keep it neat and organized. labeling parts in baggies and keeping everything clean. having a digital camera to snap some photos of the more intricate stuff before you dig into it is a good idea as well. you need a manual as well so i'd get one if you dont allready. ~pat
