whats up everybody long time no talk lol.
any ways seasons bben good and i think i want to pick up tis next bike. its a 1988 cr 250 running, and rebuilt last year. i rode it the other day and as discribed by the seller it is like a bat out of hell, lol.
ok, went to the bike today and couldnt start it by kicking it. we took out the plug it was getting spark. tried a brand new plug and same thing. so qwe pushed it and started it right up. and it ran great.
day two we tried the new plug again and still couldnt kick it to start it. again we pushed it and started right up. felt a like it was shutting down in high revs though.
any advice will go towards the solution. thanks guys

clean the carb, make sure its spotless inside and out. Make sure non of your jets are clogged.

2 stroke carbs are much eisier then 4 stroke just pull off the float bowl and hose out the jets and the whole carb and see if that takes care of it you are gonna have to unscrew the bottom of the carb off there will be 4 screws

The carb is easier than a thumpers. But not being able to kick start sounds like a top end problem. You should check your compression.
