Does anybody think 2 strokes will evr make a "comeback"? They are lighter, faster and WAY easier to maintain than those 4 strokes. Does anyone see a comeback or are 2 strokes dead?

If Yamaha sells out there 2st bikes, and KTM 2st sales skyrocket, and sales of the 4st only manufacturers plummet, than maybe.

I just hope KTM will lower their prices if 2st sales increase.

well they already aren't making them anymore. I think KTM is the only company that's making them in 09.I'd be pissed too I HATE 4 strokes.

yamaha is making a 09  

Yamaha is still producing YZ85,125,250, all are 2smokes.

i think they will but it wont be for a couple years. if yamaha keeps making the 2 strokes for at least another 3 years and honda sales drop and yamaha 2 stroke sales increase then honda will comeback and suzuki and kawasaki would probabaly make a return after that. it also depends on what the amateur rider are on. if ama notices in increase in 2 strokes in the amateur levels then they could comeback.

Really? I thot 08 was there last year. Well, they'd better sell cuz I know more people who like 2 strokes than 4 strokes. Everyone's just buying used bikes is the problem.

yup there makin a 09 in the economy no 1 can get a new bike unless ure rich  

So can u ride 2 strokes in the ama? Or will they only allow 4 strokes? Isn't it also an enviromental thing?

no you can ride whatever you want. the factory pros are under contracts to race 4 strokes so they arent allowed but if you have no contract with anyone to race a certain bike then you can race whatever you want. as the amateur classes currently stand, it is 125 cc to 250cc so anything from 2 to a 4 stroke is allowed. they also have a 125cc to open where you are allowed race anything as long as it over 125 cc.

They will have to ban 2st weedeaters,blowers,chainsaws etc.. if it's an environmental issue.

So pro privateers can ride 2strokes just not factory riders?

also the environmentalists want cleaner burning bikes, they dont care how many cycles it has as long as it is cleaner, but they dont matter for anything.
