well hes a friend i ve watched him do it, ok i just sent out my kx top end to get re nickled and a new piston  kit and theres like 350  so 500 for it to last four times as long ill take it, with proper maintenance a fourstroke top end will last four times as long as a two stroke, not to mention the power

buddy a 2 stroke as long as u take care of it will last a very long time as well

that is just the piston and ring. a 4 stroke has a lot more parts that need replaced when you do a top end.

but wheres the power, and not really rings pistons they wear alot faster on a two stroke yeah theyre cheaper but i think if you did a timeline with two maintained machines youd find that thered be less down time with a fourstroke and probably about the same amount of money spent

How do you like the 08 300xcw?  
chud i love it.
the 300xcw has taken me to a new level of riding.
We get some great single track, and some logging roads to go fast on, here in Oregon with some monster uphill and way to friggin steep downhills.
I have been impressed with the bike powerful and well mannered. When I am a doink and kill it on a hill i hit the easy button and away we go. Hell I feel like I should name it and celebrate it's birthday!

aparrently chud we agree on a lot. people do need to stop slamming fours. i like 2 strokes personally but a lot of the people on here saying that 4 stroke riders have no nuts is ticking me off. like the people bashing that kid for wanting a 250 4 stroke instead of his yz125. those dinks need to get on a 450 4 stroke and tell us what htey think. i've ridden both and experienced the maintanence on both btw. ~pat

I'd name it and celebrate it's birthday. Jimmy Lewis just posted on how well the 300 can tractor. That's what I'm talking about, a 2 stroke that can tractor and haul ass.

lol i dont slam them, i just like to screw around with them. btw i found out that you can get into this program if you race where every 2 years you get a dirt bike for discount, like a 450 for 5000 dollars. if you sell your bike every 2 years and get like 4500 out of it then every 2 years you can get a new dirt bike for like 500 dollars. i was going to get a cr250 this time and see if i can get into that and then my next bike after that would be 450. see, i dont hate them, i just like to mess with some of the people that ride them. i never said anything that they have no balls or a bad rider or anything like that.

twasn't you elko lol. i ussually agree with what you say ahaha. no peeing match here lol. there were a couple dinks awhile ago that was slamming them real bad. saying 4st riders have no balls. and going on and on. it kinda irked me. ~pat
