During Labor Day weekend I'll be heading down with Giant Motorsports to Mexico for the Baja Mini Tour(again). I'll try and take my camera along to share some fun with you guys and girls. As long as it doesn't get confiscated by the federales.

Last year was my first year down to Mexico and I was scared as can be, which probably made me well prepared for the worst to happen. We did the whole trip in 2 and half days last year from Garden Grove, CA to Ensenada, Mexico then from Ensenada to San Quentin and then back home. We bring the offroad trucks and run the race course all from Ensenada to San Quentin. Many times we run into riders prerunning the course as well...

I have some photos I'll post below from last year's trip. And when I return, if I don't someone come save me, I'll post up new photos.

BTW - any of you guys ride mexico at all?

*note: I may have already posted something about this 6 months ago, sorry if it's a repeat... I'm excited about this trip.

Yeah, its a different feeling being in another country offroading. I didn't see any GasGas bikes... mostly the riders down there are from the US.

After we went through San Tomas, we had ended up in a lil farming village of some type and little kids in the fields were running up to the trucks wanting us to give them "high-fives"... it was really neat!

Sadly this weekend, I will NOT be making my journey down to Baja California, due to a few issues in Mexico and some personal issues of my own.

If by some miracle we make it down there, I'll take my camera along.

Sounds like an awesome trip!  My only concern is what you have mentioned; I've heard some pretty good horror stories from trips down south.  As long as you have people who know how things work there its likely a good trip.

That's too bad you can't make it. Ironically, I was just watching Dust to Glory today. Great movie.

We had jumped into Olds Hill, started hitting massive whoops and then the temporary shock mounts gave way.  The shock mount were only temporary ones as this truck was shown at the off-road expo in Pomona. No time to build new ones, we drove out to Glamis. (I may even have a video of it, bad quality though).

And here is the aftermath of driving with temporary shock mounts(don't do it)...

Coming back down olds:

Yes, my parents don't trust me being Mexico with its current state.  Last year we had gone through a military check point on the way in from San Tomas and they made me get out of the truck and searched it. Luckily, they just told us to get back it and have fun.
