RM125 Not running right

Hi everyone, I own a 97 rm125 that wont idle and when powerban comes on the bike dosent go any harder, I beleave its a carby problem. It has a fmf fatboy on it and have been told that it may need new jets to compensate the new exhaust. With the idle i turn the nob on the choke and it dose nothing.
Anyone have any ideas???

of first of all i would clean out the carb really good soak it in carb cleaner while you are in the carb write down what the pilot jet is and what the main jet is then put it back together and see if that fixes the problem if not then you will probably need to re jet are you fouling plugs??

never, i brought the bike a year ago and has never run right, the previous owner claimed to have rebuilt it just before selling it. I have only taken it out a few times so not sure if its needed.
And yeah it dose foul the plug

What colour is the pulg after running the bike? But like Quazy said, take the carb apart, and give it a good clean with carb cleaner. Also you say the idle nob does nothing, is the air screw adjusted correctly? If not, you won't get it too idle.

do you clean the plug and reuse it?

I have, but also tried a new plug made no difference

Black, as in oily? That implies that you are running rich. Can you please find out what jets (main and pilot)you are running atm.

dont reuse them. they dont work properly after they foul. so just use new plugs. you have to describe it more. are they black and sooty, or black and oily and wet. fmfracing.com has recommended jetting on their site.

LOL make sure your pilot jet is even there!! LOL I only say that cause I bought a 1996 RM 125 And brought it to the shop for a checkup before I rode it and the pilot jet was missing!! LOL that would have been a bad running bike lol

lol. i will wait until he tells us what it looks like then i will use my own knowledge to tell him what it doing. not someone elses knowledge.
and i have a perfectly good one in my manual but i cant post that one on the internet.
