I'm not sure which one would win in a straight out drag race but the 1999 would be a little lighter with the 5 speed transmission and the aluminum frame making it a handle a bit nice and be a little bit nimbler.
The suspension would be better on the 1999 because There is 9 more years of technology behind it.
It wouldn't be hard to have you suspension overhauled though.

it all depends on the rider. you are going to have a slight advantage in a drag but a big advantage on the track. there is no definite answer.

Too cool, toast. I have a 99 cr125 too, bought it off my neighbor last summer. It rides sweet.
After the race, don't forget to tell who won! Good luck.

The early 90's model CR125's had strong engines, I have read they were the best 125 engines Honda ever built. I have ridden a friends 91 and it felt strong for being a 17yr old bike and I liked the 6 gear tranny.

My 1990 cr 125 dosent have a 6 speed tranny it is only 5 speed like most of the 2 stroke honda bikes. I will still beat his 1999 cr 125 though. i just rebulit the engine the top and bottom end so come on by my house any day.
thanks, Jimmy
