new kawasaki 250

i just picked up a brand new kx 250 for 3500, couldnt pass it up cause i was tired of my cr 125, and this thing is fast as hell, pulls like a raped ape, lots of bottom end, and top, and its runnin rich, it had a 50 pilot i got a 48....needle was 2nd clip...i mooved it 1st...and i left the main along for now, now skip, did i start this right?
everything looks better 35 ft off the ground...Generation DMF

skip doesnt spend much time on here. but i am confused, what exact throttle range was running rich before the changes, and how is it running now.

its the bottom cause theres a bunch of spooge on it and in the pipe, and i havet drove it yet causee hannas makin it rain

well it will spooge if your not keeping the rpm's up. mine spooges where the pipe connects to the engine, on both my bikes, and they run fine. you could probably fix it with the air screw. does it bog anywhere in the throttle range. if it doesnt then it can probably just be fixed with a better oil or fine tuning of the air screw.

What yr is the KX? Thats a great deal for a new 250!

its an 07, and i couldnt belive i found that deal either!, but its running a tank of yama lube semi senthetic with 36:1, but i have a bottle of silkoliene, platinum fully senthetic im going to try

use the yamalube 2r, or bel ray h1r, or honda hp2. i prefer the honda stuff over the yamalube. miced at 32:1 but if you can afford it get the bel ray h1r. what is your altitude and temperature.

85 and the altitude it 322, and it was humid toda when i rode it

well stock jetting should be fine. i dont know why the clip was on the 2nd position before but stock according to PC website is 3rd. but stock pilot is 50. try to fine tune the air screw and see if it stops spooging.

High humidity will cause the bike to run rich.

If an air screw adjustment does not clear it up, you should try the smaller pilot jet.

agreed, once you get that circuit set right then you could try the clip on the 2nd or 3rd position to find out where it runs better at.
