Hi I am debating between the yamaha wr 250 or the honda crf 250x. Over time I would license it for the road. Do these bikes require the rings to be changed ? If so how often ? thanks

I can't tell you much but what I can tell you is that it all depends on how often you ride, how hard you ride, and how long you go fast or how long you go slow. If I were you I would go for the Honda. Most people would agree that Honda is known more for their 4 stroke bikes.

Yes, you will have to change rings according to manufacturer specs. IDK if the rings on a trail bike are more durable than a mx bike.

How often would you have to if you are not racing you should not have to?

the 250x is de tuned compared to the mx model so with it you will be able to go longer between valve adjustment and topend work

It all depends on how well you keep up w/ air filter maintenance, and oil changes.
No rings will last forever, and 4 strokes require valve adjustments also.

o my bad. thinking of a different thread. thanks for catching that one quazy. its the same story with the trail bikes though. they can go without maintenance. oil changes and clean air filter and you will be good.
