what kind of bike do I have

I ran across a KTM for sale, and I would like to know a little bit about it.  I did a VIN search, and came up with VBKMXJ204WM316193, which shows to be a 98 250 mx, sx or mxj.  How do I tell the difference.  Any clues.  Thanks.

The best way 2 find out is 2 ask the person who is selling it cuz i don't think u can really tell the difference lookin at it

Call a KTM dealer, and give them the VIN number they might be able to help.
