I have heard alot of negative info concerning the 02 motor. Can some one tell me the difference between the two, and why many believe the 99-01 motor to be superior.
thanks

What negatives have you heard? Lots of people slam the CR's. I am not as familiar w/ 02's as I am w/04-07CR's. Mapleleaf has an 02CR125.

They kept changing reed designs, intake and exhaust ports, pipes, powervalves, until the 05 model. The CR125's were a little off on power and they kept changing the above mentioned in an attempt to gain power. Some powerbands are more peaky/shorter than others.
As far as major redesigns, there were none until 2004.
