you should start by setting your sag.

do this first then i will help you get it lower if yo u want it a little bit lower.

At 6ft you should be able to flat foot while sitting on your bike if your sag is set right.  I have a 31" inseam and can touch both sides with my toes.

I have a 29" inseam and can't... can be entertaining to say the least...

If using for trail riding you could also use this lowering link:

I usually stop on the side of hill so I can put my left foot down on some elevation to make restarting my bike easier.  Or at the top of a hill where the frame is almost sitting in the dirt.

Same here, side of a jump, berm, fallen rider    etc

ok the sag is simply turning the spring up or down. this makes your bike sit lower or higher when you sit on it.

what you need to do is get a hammer and punch and get 3 measurement for me and i will help you.

put the bike on a stand and measure from the rear wheel axle and to a spot on the rear fender. preferable right next to the number plate. now take the bike off the stand and push down on the rear seat and let go of it and allow it come up by itself and measure from the same 2 spots. now sit on the bike in your normal riding position and measure from the 2 spots.

after you have done measuring these 3 things, come back and give me your measurements and i will tell you what to do from there.

dont do that. if your sag is set right you can easily touch the ground with both feets. get the sag set right. moving your forks is going to screw up the handling of your bike.

This question seems to fit in perfectly here… I just bought a 09 YZ250F and the bike is great on the straights and whoops but I am 5’ 8” and when I get into turns and tight spots and need a leg out to assist I don’t have enough leg to get the job done, especially kick starting it, unexpected stopping and making tight u-turns on trails. I’m not going to be pulling doubles but I may, maybe just might do some cross country/endure races in the spring. The majority of this bike’s life will be on the trails of the Lake Murray ATV park in Ok or similar areas. My question is how much I can realistically expect to lower the bike by just adjusting sag and forks (I’d have the dealer set the suspension up and adjust forks). At 5’ 8” can I get close to flat feet in the dirt with boots on by just adjusting the sag or would a YAMALINK be needed? And if a YAMALINK or other mod is needed, how much will it affect the handling and feel of the bike? I’m assuming that adjustments in sag will have little or no effect on overall characteristics and that a YAMALINK can have quite a lot of influence on how the bike will handle… also could the influence of a YAMALINK and the changes in handling be a benefit considering the kind of riding I plan to do?

Gracias-

well first off make a new thread, and 2nd you have it backwards. and you should be able to touch with one foot.
