Pull the plastic stator cover off the left side of the bike. You sill see where the cable connects to the clutch rod. Remove the cable. Warm the engine and then have a buddy hold the front brake. With the brake held, use a vicegrip to pill that lever up all the way and put the bike in gear. If it stalls, then you need to take your clutch apart and see what's what. If it works properly, then you've just got some more cable adjustment to do. Also - check your oil level and make sure it isn't low or high.

yeah, warped clutch plates. any funky discoloration on the plates. really worn friction "pads" on the friction plates. those are the ones wiht teh black stuff on them. also check your basket for grooves, or broken "tabs". do you have a service manual? it will tell you teh exact specs for hte clutch. like how thick the plates should be and how long the springs should be etc. ~pat

could be. could be funky colors. or black heat marks. i believe hte correct term would be. thermal discoloration. so any changes in teh color of hte plats would do it. you dont want any funkyness in your bike i'll tell you that right now ~pat

teh thing that holds all teh plates. or rather the thing that the plates go into. it is a hollow bit with long metal tabs jutting up that the tabs on the plates go nestle into. ~pat
